About me
Hi, my name is Sophie Tortorella, and I am a freshman at Texas Christian University. I was born in Redwood City, California then at the age of four moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey and am now currently living in the cold but beautiful Wellesley, Massachusetts. Over my 19 years of life, I have certainly learned that with change come new and exiting experiences. So of course, I had to pick somewhere far and unknown for the next four years and have been happy to make Fort Worth, Texas my new home.
Major
I am a pre-business student with the intent to major in marketing. In high school, I took courses in the business program that had me truly enjoying learning about business. The marketing and advertising class I took allowed me to see a career path for myself in the future. My love and success in the class led me to win the Susan M. Copell Business Award at Wellesley High School and from then on I knew this would be my major in college.
Outside of the classroom
In high school, I spent a lot of my time with animals or out on the lacrosse field. In my free time, I worked with a rescue and foster program in my hometown, and it led me to foster and then adopt my own dog. I’m hoping to continue my work with shelter animals while at TCU. I am looking forward to the spring, as I will be playing on the women’s club lacrosse team. I played sports throughout high school and have built a love for what sports have given me: hard work, determination, strength and friendships. I am currently a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and it has given me the opportunity to make amazing friendships and create new memories.

- My sister, and I are born one day apart, but I am three years older.
- My favorite food is pasta.
- I love being by the water.
- Ever since I was a toddler, I’ve had a love for fashion and style
- Winter, and summer are my favorite seasons.
- I believe that every day you should do something that excites you.
- My favorite movie is Forest Gump.
