How to Create a FrogFolio

On your Digication homepage, under the 'My e-Portfolios' tab is the 'Create' button. Clicking this button will create a new ePortfolio for your account.

You will then be taken to a page where you will decide the title, theme, and general settings for your ePortfolio. The title of your ePortfolio is important, because once set, you won't be able to change it. We recommend titling your ePortfolio with your name or with the title your instructor has assigned.

Next you choose the theme for your ePortfolio. If this is your personal ePortfolio, we recommend the TCU Student Template. However, if you are creating an ePortfolio for a specific class, you should first be enrolled in that class on Digication and then you should click on the 'More Templates' link in the corner, which will open a box that allows you to search for your class's template under the 'My Courses' tab.

You are also given the option to change the default settings for your ePortfolio. These can help you maintain your privacy or make your ePortfolio more accessible to the public. You can change these settings at any time by clicking on settings under the 'Portfolio Tools' tab on your ePortfolio.

The first setting is Permissions. This allows you to change who can see your ePortfolio. You can keep it private, public within the TCU user community, or you can make it completely public. If you want to specialize your privacy settings, you can click on the 'Custom Permissions' link in the bottom corner. Here you can change whether your ePortfolio is available in the ePortfolio directory, which affects whether or not other users can find your ePortfolio within Digication's search system. You can also add Viewers, Editors, Publishers, and Admins from this box. For example, if you want to keep your ePortfolio private, but you need to allow a teacher to have access to your work, you can add them as a Viewer, so only they will be able to see you ePortfolio. Additionally, if you want to create an ePortfolio for a group project, you can add other students as Publishers so you all have the ability to edit and publish the same ePortfolio.

Next is Tagging. Tagging allows Digication's search system and search engines to categorize your ePortfolio. You can also use them to classify your ePortfolio with similar ePortfolios for classes.

Finally, you can edit the comment settings so you can have control over who can comment on your ePortfolio and how those comments are displayed.

After you've gotten the settings how you like them, you can click the 'Create New ePortfolio' button to finalize the changes and generate the ePortfolio.
